Minimum tillage key to preserving soil quality in changing climate.
Shifting to more sustainable farming methods is important due to climate change. A study in Tunisia looked at how different tillage methods affect soil quality. They found that no tillage increased soil density and hardness, while minimum tillage only affected water content and pH. Both methods did not improve soil quality compared to traditional tillage. The study suggests using minimum tillage before switching to no tillage to prevent soil quality decline and lower crop yields.
