The researchers studied how using rice straw boards can help grow strong rice seedlings for transplanting. They tested different sowing rates, water management, and foliar fertilizer to improve seedling quality. They found that a sowing rate of 150-180g per board is best, watering twice a day after emergence gives the best seedlings, and spraying foliar fertilizer at the two-leaf stage improves quality. Seedlings raised on straw boards were better than those on nutrient soil after transplanting.
