New study reveals innovative ways to reduce emissions and costs from calf manure.
The project 'NL Next level mestverwaarden' aims to find ways to turn animal manure into valuable fertilizer products. Researchers studied different barn and manure processing systems for rosé veal calf and white veal calf manure. They looked at faster manure disposal, emission-reducing measures, and separating urine and faeces to see how it affects ammonia and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the economic feasibility of processing the manure.
