Understanding different types of landslides can help prevent and reduce their impact. Three landslides in China showed varied movement patterns: some deformed multiple times, while others moved along a shear surface. Advanced radar techniques detected slow-moving landslides before they happened, but sudden landslides were harder to predict. Heavy rainfall played a key role in triggering these landslides. The study also found that one landslide's deformation could trigger new landslides nearby. This shows that predicting landslides is complex, and more research is needed for better risk prevention.
