Islamic banks in Pakistan are facing a decline in profitability. The study looked at reasons for this decline over a twelve-year period. Internal and external factors were found to have a significant impact on Islamic bank profitability. Recommendations were made for both bank management and regulatory bodies to address these issues and save the declining sector.
