Dakhla Oasis in Egypt Shows Resilience Against Soil Erosion Threats
The researchers developed a model to predict and assess soil erosion hazards in Dakhla Oasis, Egypt. They combined different factors like rainfall, soil type, and vegetation cover to create maps showing potential erosion from water and wind. The results showed that the area is mostly at low risk of water erosion, but wind erosion varies across different parts of the oasis. Overall, the study found that the oasis is slightly eroded and can withstand water erosion well under current conditions.
