Organic manure boosts soil health and crop productivity in India.
The study looked at how using a mix of organic manure and chemical fertilizers can improve soil health and crop productivity in maize-wheat fields. After 17 years, the soil had more organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Micronutrients like zinc, copper, iron, and manganese also increased. The soil's ability to hold water and support microbes improved, but the soil became less acidic and dense. This shows that combining organic and chemical fertilizers can benefit both the soil and the crops grown in it.
