Household electricity consumption in Pakistan was studied by analyzing electricity bills and surveying 523 homes in Mirpur city. The average household uses 2469 kWh/year, with larger families and homes using more electricity. Houses with air conditioning use 44% more electricity than those without, and households with Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) use as much electricity as air-conditioned homes. This information can help policymakers and designers make more energy-efficient decisions.
