The study looked at how moisture levels and nitrogen fertilizers affect the yield of vetch and wheat grown together. When there wasn't enough moisture, nitrogen didn't boost vetch yield but did increase wheat yield. When moisture was optimal, nitrogen reduced vetch yield but didn't lower the total mixture yield because wheat yield went up.
