Shareholders Drive Corporate Social Responsibility Evolution Over Past Decades.
Shareholders have a big influence on how companies act socially. They can do this through shareholder activism or socially responsible investing. Shareholders have been pushing for companies to care about more than just money since the 1960s. This paper looks at how shareholders have impacted social responsibility over the past few decades. It also connects this to the history of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and suggests areas for more research.
