The article discusses changes in European agriculture due to enlargement, CAP reform, and trade liberalization. It looks at productivity growth, food supply chains, quality standards, and industry structure in the EU. The impact of enlargement and CAP reforms on agricultural markets is examined, with a focus on the Polish meat sector. The 2003 Mid-Term Review of the Common Agricultural Policy is analyzed for Ireland. The decoupling of EU cotton subsidies and preferences erosion in the sugar market are also discussed. The study highlights the effects of trade liberalization initiatives on European agriculture.
