Sampling tree diversity in a coastal hill forest in Malaysia, researchers found 120 tree species per hectare. The most common species were Swintonia sp.1, Garcinia eugnifolia, and Syzygium sp.1. The study suggests that a 1-ha plot is enough to sample this forest type effectively.
