The study looked at how different ways of adding nutrients to rice plants affect the amount of rice produced. They used four types of rice plants from Yunnan and Zhejiang. They found that adding fertilizer at different times can increase the number of grains and the weight of the rice. Adding fertilizer later in the growth of the rice plants can make hybrid rice produce more rice.
