Early seeding boosts winter crop yields after continuous rice cultivation in Korea.
The study looked at how different planting times affect the growth and productivity of Italian ryegrass, barley, and rye after rice cultivation in Korea. Early planting resulted in taller plants and more branches per square meter compared to late planting. Italian ryegrass showed the most benefit from early planting. Overall, early planting led to higher yields for all crops. Italian ryegrass and barley had better feed value than rye. The study suggests that planting these crops earlier can increase their productivity.
