Optimizing nitrogen and planting density boosts hybrid rice yield significantly.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer and planting densities affect the yield and growth of a hybrid rice called Changyou 1. They found that using 270 kg of nitrogen per hectare and planting 500,000 seedlings per hectare gave the highest yield. Both nitrogen amount and planting density had a big impact on the number of panicles and grains, but not on seed setting rate. The best nitrogen amount for high yield was between 210 and 330 kg per hectare, with 270 kg being the maximum.
