A study was done to find the best super hybrid rice varieties for planting in a cold mountain area. Seven varieties were tested in Guangxi, China, and all had high yields. II Youhang 1 had the highest yield, followed by Y Liangyou 1, Zhongzheyou 1, Zhongzheyou 8, Yangliangyou 6, Xinliangyou 6, and Q You 6. All seven varieties can be planted in the mid-season in cold mountain areas, but Zhongzheyou 1, Zhongzheyou 8, Yangliangyou 6, and II Youhang 1 were the best choices for large-scale production based on yield, disease resistance, grain quality, and growth vigor.
