Natural Organic Matter (NOM) in water sources is a concern for drinking water. Coagulation/flocculation with ceramic microfiltration can remove NOM efficiently. Different coagulants were tested, all showing good NOM removal and low membrane fouling. Residual metal concentration is a limiting factor. Inline pipe flocculator design can make filtration units more compact.
