Faulty Aquifers and Coastal Landfill: Busan's Water Crisis Unveiled
The study looked at the water properties in the central area of Busan City. They did tests in both rock and soil layers to understand how water moves underground. They found that the rock layer near Dongrae fault has unique water flow patterns. The soil layer near Busanjin railway station has different water properties due to coastal landfill and fine sediments. The rock layer follows a dual-porosity model, while the soil layer follows an unconfined aquifer model. The rock layer has higher transmissivity and storage capacity compared to the soil layer.
