Safflower oil breakthrough: New method produces biodiesel with 96% yield!
Biodiesel, a renewable fuel made from vegetable oils, is important due to high fossil fuel prices and environmental concerns. Safflower oil was used in this study to make biodiesel through a process called transesterification. The researchers found that using a 6:1 ratio of alcohol to oil and 1% catalyst led to a 96% yield of biodiesel that met industry standards. This shows that safflower oil can be a good source for producing biodiesel efficiently.
