EU organic farms set to thrive under new policy reform
The study looked at how changes in agricultural policies in the EU affect organic farms. Researchers studied typical organic dairy and arable farms in Germany, Denmark, UK, and Italy. They used a simulation model to predict how different policy scenarios would impact the farms' profits. Results showed that farm size, productivity, and payment contributions varied between countries. Organic dairy farms focused more on growth strategies, while arable farms were more flexible and likely to diversify production. Overall, policy scenarios had similar effects on farm profitability across all countries.
