Non-aeration boosts growth: Azuki, Cowpea, and Mungbean thrive without oxygen!
The study compared the growth of azuki, cowpea, and mungbean plants in hydroponic systems with and without aeration. Results showed that non-aeration led to taller plants with more leaves, while aeration resulted in longer roots and more leaves. Azuki and cowpea plants had higher chlorophyll levels without aeration, while mungbean had lower levels. Additionally, cowpea and mungbean plants had higher dry weights without aeration. Overall, growing these plants without aeration is recommended for better growth and yield.
