Soil acidity affects yautía production: lower pH, lower yields.
The acidity of soil affects the growth of yautía plants. In Corozal soil, tuber production decreased when pH dropped below 4.8, with a significant drop at pH 4.2. In Isabela's Oxisol, offspring production decreased at pH 4.5. Higher yields were seen at pH 5.2 or higher, where there was no exchangeable aluminum in the soil.
