Zero Interest Financing Revolutionizes Islamic Microfinance in Indonesia
Islamic microfinance institutions are exploring a Zero Interest Financing Model (ZIFM) to address issues with conventional microfinance. The Shariah People Credit Bank (BPRS) in Indonesia is studying this approach. Conventional microfinance has been criticized for high interest rates and limited impact on poverty. Islamic microfinance offers an alternative, but faces challenges in reaching people and aligning with Islamic principles. The ZIFM aims to provide interest-free financing to help alleviate poverty effectively.
