The article looks at how much people in Europe still like the euro currency during the financial crisis. They used a popularity function to study data from 1990 to 2011. Surprisingly, the crisis didn't really make people like the euro less. People still support the euro, even though they trust the European Central Bank less. So, the euro seems to have its own strong reputation, even if the institutions behind it are losing trust.
