Hilly Watersheds Predicted Without Rainfall Data, Revolutionizing Flood Forecasting for Vulnerable Communities
A new model has been created to predict how water flows down hills during storms, without needing past rainfall data. By looking at the shape of the land and how water moves over it, researchers were able to accurately forecast the flow of water in a hilly area in India. This model can be used in any similar area without rain gauges to predict how water will flow during storms.
