Architects Can Now Design More Energy-Efficient Buildings with Automated Optimization
Design professionals have developed a tool called H. D. S. Beagle 1.0 to help create more energy-efficient building designs. This tool uses parametric modeling and multi-disciplinary design optimization to explore different design options and their impact on energy use. By automatically analyzing energy efficiency and using a Genetic Algorithm to find the best solutions, the tool can speed up the design process and improve the quality of buildings. The tool has shown promise in reducing design time and enhancing design quality, but more work is needed to make it even better for early design stages.
