Is the EU Becoming the Go-To Partner for Global Security?
The European Union is working on improving its role in global security by getting involved in crisis management in different countries. They have been sending missions to help prevent conflicts and rebuild after they happen. However, the EU is still not seen as a major security provider worldwide. This is because decision-making on security issues is still a challenge among the 28 EU Member States. To address this, the EU prefers to work with other organizations like the UN or African Union to gain legitimacy and expertise. As a result, the EU is likely to continue playing a supporting role in crisis management rather than taking the lead.
