The future of cars will likely be hybrid electric vehicles, especially if heat recovery systems can be developed. Different systems like thermal engines, pure electric, hybrid electric, and fuel cell electric are compared. Hybrid cars using very little fuel and thermal engines with low energy loss are expected to become more common. Making vehicles more efficient by reducing extra power needs like air conditioning will also be important.
