Endangered languages disappearing rapidly, sparking urgent global linguistic preservation efforts.
Languages can disappear quickly for political, economic, and cultural reasons. Between 10-50% of languages are endangered. Recent research focuses on dying languages. This study presents various research on threatened languages worldwide. It includes languages like English, Spanish, Swedish, Arabic, and Thai. The research also explores how language obsolescence impacts linguistics and anthropology, such as language acquisition and historical linguistics. This collection of studies will encourage more research in sociolinguistics and anthropological linguistics.
