New Estimators Beat Traditional Methods in Calculating Population Variances!
Researchers developed new estimators to calculate population variance using information on a single auxiliary variable's mean and variance. These estimators, called Ratio-Product-Difference (RPD) type estimators, were found to be more efficient than traditional methods in terms of bias and mean square error. The study also introduced generalized versions of these estimators and compared them theoretically and numerically with traditional estimators, showing the superiority of the proposed methods.
