Potato Farmers Boost Yields and Profits with Smarter Irrigation and Fertilizer
This research looked at how different ways of watering and levels of plant food affect potato growth. They tested sprinklers, drip lines, and furrows for watering, along with three fertilizer amounts. The study showed that sprinklers and drip lines gave the best results for growing potatoes. The plants had more tubers and were healthier with these methods compared to using furrows. Also, using specific amounts of fertilizer made a difference. Medium amounts worked best for potato production. It was most cost-effective to use sprinklers with a certain level of fertilizer for growing potatoes. Overall, the way of watering and the right amount of fertilizer play big roles in how well potatoes grow.
