Researchers tested natural materials like Mallow's Leaves Extracts and Carob's Pods Extracts to reduce the use of aluminium sulphate in treating turbid river water. They found that adding these natural coagulant aids along with aluminium sulphate improved turbidity removal efficiency. The best results were achieved with a combination of alum and Mallow's Leaves Extracts, showing a significant reduction in residual turbidity.
