Smaller Russian cities poised to drive regional growth with new agglomeration strategy
The article discusses the importance of developing urban agglomerations in the European North of Russia, not just the largest ones but also smaller ones. The researchers identified 10 agglomerations in the region and found that most of them are underdeveloped or emerging. They also proposed a method for assessing the economic power and socio-economic development of agglomerations, which can help in forming a management system for their development. The findings can be useful for government authorities and local governments in making decisions to improve the socio-economic conditions of these regions.
