Sustainable rural tourism in China positively impacts rural community development by increasing rural tourism revenue and the number of tourists. This study analyzed data from 1994 to 2020 and found that rural infrastructure, ecological environment, fiscal expenditure, technological progress, and human capital are key factors driving rural community development in the long and short term. The research fills gaps in understanding how sustainable rural tourism contributes to the growth and diversification of rural communities in China.
