Unreliable Results Avoided: New Methods for Calculating Correlation Coefficients Identified
Correlation methods are crucial for studying relationships between variables, but using the wrong method can lead to unreliable results. When dealing with outliers in data, it's better to use methods like Spearman, Kendall Tau, Median, or Quadrant instead of the common Pearson method. Estimating correlation coefficients accurately with outliers has been a challenge due to limited knowledge of these methods. Five different methods were compared: Pearson, Spearman, Kendall Tau, Median, and Quadrant.
