Familiarity with Attractions Boosts City Attractiveness, Events and Cuisine Less Impactful.
Destination familiarity with specific elements like attractions impacts how attractive a city is perceived. A study on four Polish cities found that knowing about tourist attractions increased attractiveness, but familiarity with events and cuisine did not have the same effect. Over 200 people from Krakow participated in the research, showing that tangible attractions play a key role in how appealing a city is seen.
