Drinking water in poor rural areas poses significant health risks.
The study looked at the quality of drinking water in a poor rural area and how it affects people's health. Researchers monitored water plants in different seasons and tested water quality indicators in 2019. They found that the drinking water in rural areas had low quality in general. The average yearly risk of getting cancer from the water was 1.57 in a million, and the risk of other health problems was 5.38 in a billion. The study shows that the health risks from drinking water in poor rural areas need to be managed better.
