Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are important for protecting marine life. By considering how different areas are connected, we can make MPAs more effective. This study provides 13 simple guidelines to help managers and conservationists create better MPAs and networks. These guidelines can help improve the management and protection of oceans and coasts by addressing various scientific and policy issues. They can also help create better connections between different areas, which is important for global conservation goals.
