New soil texture map for East Wasit Province challenges existing classifications.
Soil texture affects soil properties. This study mapped soil texture in East Wasit Province, Iraq. 25 soil samples were tested, showing 40% sand, 16% silt loam, 16% sandy loam, 12% loamy sand, 8% sandy clay loam. A soil texture map was created, differing from existing maps. Most soils were in hydrologic group A.
