Drought-Stricken Farmers Rejoice: New Irrigation System Boosts Crop Yields with Less Water
The goal of the research was to find an irrigation system in southern Maharashtra that uses less water, is cost-effective, and increases crop yield. The study looked at different methods of irrigation such as surface, subsurface, drip, and smart systems, comparing automated and manual approaches. Smart irrigation showed to yield more crops using less water than manual irrigation. The study aims to provide an economical and water-efficient solution for farming in the region.
