Air pollution in China linked to increased risk of ischemic stroke.
Air pollution in Chongqing, China is linked to more hospitalizations for ischemic stroke. The study looked at data from over 2,000 patients from 2015 to 2016. They found that increases in PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, and O3 levels were associated with higher rates of hospitalizations for ischemic stroke. This suggests that the government needs to take action to reduce air pollution in order to protect public health.
