Assam Valley Forest Study Reveals Dominant Plant Family for Biodiversity Conservation.
Researchers studied the ground flora in Assam Valley Tropical Wet Evergreen Forests to understand the plant diversity. They found 53 different plant species belonging to 28 families, with poaceae being the most common. The diversity of herbs in the forest ranged from moderate to high, as indicated by the Shannon – Winner index. This study provides important information for conserving the biodiversity of these forests.
