New irrigation strategy boosts pepper yield and water efficiency in agriculture.
The researchers studied how to schedule irrigation for pepper plants by using two methods to calculate water needs. They found that both methods, based on evaporation and reference evapotranspiration, gave similar crop yields and water use efficiency. This means that either method can be used to plan irrigation for pepper in the Vojvodina region, but the reference evapotranspiration method is recommended because it is easier to use and provides reliable data.
