State-based land tenure in Zimbabwe threatens peasant farmers' security and livelihoods.
Land tenure in Zimbabwe changed dramatically with the Fast-Track Land Reform Programme, shifting most land ownership to the state. The study used a mix of methods to analyze the impact of state-based land tenure on resettlement areas, showing that it puts peasants at risk of losing their land and limits women's rights to land ownership.
