Illegal logging is a big problem in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, leading to massive forest depletion. To tackle this issue, law enforcement can use satellite images to catch illegal loggers. However, they are not using this technology effectively. The lack of initiative, proximity of forests to residential areas, and trading of wood outside the region are some reasons why satellite data is underutilized. Law enforcement officials need better training on environmental issues to combat illegal logging effectively.
