The government of Nepal stopped using scientific forest management in 2021. This was because stakeholders were worried about overusing forests and the way forests were being managed. The approach of using one method for all forests didn't work well. People didn't trust the process and there wasn't enough evidence to support it. The study suggests involving more people in making decisions about forests to make sure they are managed well.
