Boosting wheat zinc levels for healthier grains with plant growth regulators
Plant growth regulators were used to improve zinc uptake in wheat. Different PGR concentrations were tested on four wheat varieties under various zinc levels. The combination of 10 ppm gibberellic acid and cytokinin increased grain yield and zinc content the most. Soil application with foliar spray was the most effective method. The varieties UP2628 and UP2554 performed better than UP262 and PBW175 in terms of zinc uptake. Overall, using plant growth regulators with the right delivery method can help wheat plants absorb more zinc.
