River mouth sandbar changes impact navigation and wave intrusion.
Sand was deposited at the river mouth, forming a sandbar affected by river flow, sea waves, and wave direction. A study on the Omono River in Japan used UAV surveys to analyze sandbar changes. Results showed that the right side sandbar developed more in winter, and sandbar area and river mouth width increased with river discharge and cross-shore waves. Sandbar area decreased as river mouth width increased.
