Unlocking Efficiency Secrets: Boosting Maize Farms in Ethiopia
Maize farms in Ethiopia were studied to see how efficiently they operate. Different models were used to account for differences between farms. The results showed that some models gave similar efficiency estimates, while others showed higher levels of persistent inefficiency compared to transient inefficiency. The models that split errors into different components provided reliable efficiency estimates. The findings suggest that certain models are better for analyzing farm efficiency and should be considered when making policy decisions.
