Satellite data reveals water scarcity hotspots in ungauged regions
Water security in ungauged regions like Anglophone Cameroon was assessed using water balance, water footprint, and satellite data. Blue water scarcity was found to be low in most districts, while population-driven water scarcity was observed in densely populated areas. Precipitation trends varied across districts, but temperatures showed an overall upward trend. This method can help assess water security in regions without river data, regardless of climate or population size.
